The Gen. Lewis A. Armistead Camp #1796 of Luthersville reports:  A Memorial Service was held in September at Tanners Church Cemetery to honor Willima Redding Byers who served in the 2^nd South Carolina Cavalry.  William Redding Byers was the Great-Grandfather of Mrs. Barbara Gray, wife of Compatriot Robert E. Lee Gray of Camp #1796.

The Gen. John B. Gordon memorial Camp #1449 of Thomaston reports:  Camp members manned booths at both The Concord Country Jubilee and The Thomaston Fall Festival.  We sold flags, tags and other Confederate items.  We were able to get contact information on many prospective members.  We passed out Pastor John Weaver CD’s to those showing interest in our Southern Heritage.  The Camp will be holding a Turkey Shoot at 9:00 AM on Nov. 8^th.  The location for the Turkey Shoot will be on Roberta Drive in Lamar County across the road from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office
